About Tbird

I’m Theresa Aldrich — “Tbird.” U.S. Navy veteran, VAQ-34, 1983–1990. Founder of HadIt.com, one of the oldest veteran-to-veteran VA claims communities on the internet, running since January 1997.

For nearly three decades I’ve watched the VA make promises it doesn’t keep, Congress hold hearings it doesn’t follow through on, and veterans get buried in bureaucracy designed to outlast them.

Tbird’s Quiet Fight is where I document it.

This publication covers VA policy failures, veteran benefits threats, contractor capture, and the gap between what the law says and what actually happens to veterans trying to use it. I work with primary sources — federal contracts, court records, OIG reports, FOIA responses, and the testimony of veterans who’ve been through it. I name names.

I’m also an Advisory Board Member at the Veterans Healthcare Policy Institute (VHPI) and a collaborator on investigations into how VA care and benefits are shaped — and reshaped — by forces that have nothing to do with veterans’ welfare.

This is not a feel-good newsletter. It’s accountability journalism from someone who has spent 29 years inside this system.
